The testing platform is a free product that allows you to have web hosting without the need to associate it with a domain.
Obviously, since it does not operate with a domain, it has certain limitations, and one of them is that access with an FTP client is slightly different.
In this guide we will show the difference when accessing via FTP using a testing platform.
The connection to the FTP service through a client requires a username and password, which you can find in the
summary of your hosting details in the
cdmon control panel.
Next, open your FTP client. In this example we will use FileZilla, and the following screen will appear:
On the main screen, go to the Edit tab and click on Options. In the Options screen access the FTP section and in the Transfer mode activate the Active option.
Note: If you have problems connecting to the server, change the value of the 'Transfer mode' option to Passive.
To connect to your hosting, enter the connection details at the top of the screen as follows:
Server: You must enter the name of your testing platform adding mialias.net at the end, as shown in the image.
Username: this field corresponds to the FTP user.
Password: the FTP user password, always respecting uppercase and lowercase letters. The most recommended option is to copy and paste the password (make sure not to copy blank spaces, as they are considered characters).
Port: FTP is the protocol you must always use to connect to the hosting. By default it is port 21.
Remember that the FTP username and password can be obtained from the hosting Control Panel, in the 'FTP' section.
Once the details are entered, click on Quickconnect.
