Domain Management: How to modify the holder of a .es domain

The process of modifying a .es isdifferent from other extensions.

The change is processed through Nic.es' website, following the following process:

1. Current owner or administrative contact
   
   • First, the current holder (or administrative contact) must access Nic.es' domain name management system with its ID (Nic-Handle) and password.
     • We can get the Nic-Handle from the holder by doing a consultation whois on the domain.
     • Once we know the Nic-Handle we can retrieve password.
   • When we have already accessed the Nic.es system, we click "Domain Transmission Application".
   • In the form we will indicate the Nic-Handle of the new holder and administrative contact, which may be a new or the same one.
     • If we do not have Nic-Handle, the new holder must create one.
   • To conclude the request we must identify with our electronic ID or attach a scanned copy of the ID.
   • Once the application is completed, the new holder receives a message to accept the transmission. You will have a deadline forten calendar daysto accept or reject it.

1. New holder
   • The new holder receives a message (from the address plandedominios@red.es) with a link to confirm the transmission of the domain name. This requires that you also need to access Nic.es domain name management system with its ID (Nic-Handle) and password.
   • IMPORTANT: In the process we must select cdmon as Registrar (as indicated in the picture below

1. We must bear in mind that if we do not select cdmon as a registrar, we will be renouncing the registrar of our domain.
   
2. To complete the process, the new holder must authenticate with his electronic ID or attach a scanned copy of the ID.

1. Once Nic.es has received this information, Nic.es will be approved for the change in order for the domain to change its headline. After approval, it will be emailed to the old and new holder notice of the completion of the proceedings.
