Domain Management: How to modify the DNS servers where the domain points

To modify the DNS servers, you must access the domain management from the "Basic service list" panel.

In the "Domain management" section, you must click on the option Manage DNS servers.

The following screen will appear on the right side of the panel, where you can modify the DNS servers assigned to your domain, and where you must click on Save data for the changes to be applied.

You can also directly assign the cdmon DNS servers by selecting the option Assign cdmon DNS.

You may find that when entering the DNS servers they cannot be updated. In that case, an error will be displayed depending on the situation. The possible error messages are the following:
  • The DNS server entered cannot contain the hyphen character (-): a domain cannot start or end with a hyphen.
  • The DNS server entered contains invalid characters: DNS servers with invalid characters cannot be entered, such as # & ! () ?¿, etc.
  • The DNS server you have entered does not exist. You must first create it as a delegation/host of the domain: it is not allowed to enter a DNS server that has not been previously created as a delegation of the domain.
  • Minimum two DNS servers: the minimum number of DNS servers that can be used on a domain is 2. If you have entered more than 2 and this message appears, verify that you have not entered duplicate servers.
  • None of the servers is new: you are entering the same servers already assigned to the domain.
  • The DNS server entered cannot be empty: the server field is blank; you must enter the DNS servers you wish to assign and click "Save data".
  • It was not possible to make the change. Please try again later or contact us: this error may appear in various situations. You must contact cdmon for further analysis.
Important: modifying DNS servers involves a propagation time of approximately 5 to 24 hours.
