How to activate the antivirus/anti-spam service to mail

From the cdmon Control Panel, you can activate or deactivate the antispam service on email accounts. To do this, follow these steps.

1.- Access hosting management

Access your cdmon control panel with your username and password, and once inside, in the "Basic service list", click the Hosting option (in this example Senior Hosting) to access hosting management.

On the "Manage hosting" screen, you must scroll down to the "Email" section and click the Antivirus/Antispam option.

2.-Activate email antivirus

In the "Antivirus protection settings" section, modify the first option Filter status, from "Disabled" to "Enabled". Once the service is enabled, the antivirus notification settings appear.

The "Send a notification" option allows you to choose between four possible options for the notification generated when a virus is detected in any received email.
  • To me and to the sender: generates a notification by sending an email to both the sender and the recipient of the message, indicating that the email sent and received contains a virus.
  • Only to the recipient: sends the disinfected message to the recipient with a notification that the message contained a virus.
  • Only to the sender: sends an email to the email sender indicating that the message they sent is infected.
  • It is not sent to anyone: no notification is generated and the email containing the infected file is completely deleted.

To save the changes, click the Save changes button.

3.-Activate email antispam

In the "Antispam protection settings" section, modify the first option Filter status, from "Disabled" to "Enabled". Once the service is enabled, two options appear: White List and Black List.

The White List allows you to add email accounts or domain names to an allowlist. Any accounts or domains listed here will not be blocked if an email is received and the server detects that it may be SPAM.

The Black List allows you to add email accounts or domain names to a blocklist. Any accounts or domains listed here will be blocked, and emails from them will not be delivered to recipients.
