How to change the characteristics of web hosting
From the cdmon Control Panel, you can modify your hosting plan features.
Access the hosting management section from the basic services list by clicking on the Hosting option.
You can view a summary of your hosting features. By clicking the Change option, you can upgrade or downgrade the features of your current hosting plan.
1. Hosting Features
The system is designed so you can compare the features of your current plan with those of the new plan you have selected. The Current Configuration column displays the features of your current plan, while the New Configuration column shows the features of the new hosting plan.
- Plan Type: To modify your current plan, select the new plan you want from the dropdown menu. Depending on your current needs, you can upgrade to a higher plan or downgrade to a lower one.
- Web Space: Displays the currently used web space compared to the new web space you wish to purchase.
- Bandwidth: Shows the bandwidth used during the last month compared to the new bandwidth included in the selected plan.
- Email Accounts: Displays the active email accounts compared to the number of accounts available in the new plan.
- MySQL: Indicates whether the database service is currently active and whether you want to keep or disable it.
- Monthly Price: Displays a monthly price comparison between both plans.
When modifying the plan, you can adjust web space, bandwidth, and email account parameters.
Once you have selected the new plan, scroll down to continue with the change process.
Depending on whether you are upgrading or downgrading, one of the following screens will be displayed:
1.1 If the New Hosting Plan Is Higher Than the Current One
The system will display your current details, the upgrade information, and the hosting expiration details.
The system offers two ways to pay for the upgrade:
- Add to Cart: The upgrade cost will be added to your shopping cart, where you can choose the payment method that best suits your needs (Bank Transfer, Visa/Mastercard, or PayPal).
- Reduce Expiration Date: This option allows you to use the remaining balance of your current hosting plan to pay for the upgrade. Since the new plan has a higher daily cost, the hosting expiration date will be adjusted accordingly. Selecting this option will take you to a summary page showing the calculation details before you confirm.
1.2 If the New Hosting Plan Is Lower Than the Current One or If You Selected "Reduce Expiration Date"
If you select a lower plan, the remaining balance difference will be used to extend the expiration date of the new plan. If you selected a higher plan and chose the "Reduce Expiration Date" payment option, the expiration date will be shortened according to the higher daily cost.
To make the calculations as clear as possible, the comparison box showing the current and new plan features remains visible at all times. Below it, you will see the calculations for the new expiration date.
Based on the resulting number of available days, the system will display the new hosting expiration date.
Once you have reviewed and confirmed all the information, you can proceed with the modification. If you are not satisfied with the payment method or the selected plan features, click Change Payment Method or Modify Details (depending on whether the selected plan is an upgrade or a downgrade).
