How to enable custom warnings for overconsumption of a server

How to enable custom warnings for overconsumption of a server

If you have a virtual or dedicated server in your cdmon user account, you can activate personalized alerts for excessive consumption of your server(s) in your cdmon user management.

In this guide, we will show you how to activate personalized alerts to control excessive consumption on your virtual or dedicated servers, allowing you to maintain better control over your resources and avoid potential outages.

First, you need to access your account in the cdmon control panel. Once you have logged in, go to the "User management" section in the top right corner. Once expanded, click on "Service notifications". Then, access "Notifications and addresses":

From this screen, you can manage the email addresses that receive both commercial notifications and alerts for your services. Additionally, you can configure personalized alerts for excessive consumption of your server. To activate consumption alerts, you will find a button at the top of this window, which is disabled by default:

When you activate the button, the control panel will confirm that alerts have been successfully enabled. Click "Accept" to continue with the customization of notifications:

Next, you can modify how you would like to receive consumption alerts that may be generated on your virtual or dedicated servers, and you can also select how we should manage these excess consumption events when they occur:

How would you like to receive consumption alerts?

For receiving notifications for these consumption alerts, you can choose between two options:

     - By selecting the first option, each time we detect excessive consumption in one of the hostings on your server(s), we will contact you by email at the contact address you have set up in your cdmon user account.

     - If you select the second option, the call plus email notification option, our technical support team will call you during the call hours you indicate. From here you can select whether you want us to call you "At any time", or you can "Customize" the hours during which we can call you; you can indicate the UTC time zone you prefer and you can also customize the days and times when we can call the contact phone number of your cdmon user account.

How should we manage incidents?
In this section you can select how you want us to act when our system detects excessive consumption on the server. The options you can select are:

     - You can select the first option if you prefer to be notified through the channel you configured in the initial part and make the necessary decisions after receiving this alert.
     - The second option causes our system to automatically increase the server's resources in case of excessive consumption and notify you about this action, consequently increasing the cost.
     - The last option restricts the resource usage of the website that is generating the excessive consumption, limiting it just enough to avoid affecting other hostings on the server.

Remember to "Save settings" before leaving the modification so that the changes are applied.
