How to get the Auth Code from a .pt domain

In order to transfer .pt domains it is necessary to have the authorization code or Auth Code (values 30 days) as well as the Process ID. This code is provided by the Registry: www.dns.pt, with your login details.

If you do not know the access data at the user area ofwww.dns.pt, you can follow the steps below to get access and Auth Code.

1.- Access dns.pt with your username and password
You will most likely not have access data to DNS.pt. On the same login screen, at the bottom, you have the option “Forgot Password?” to recover access to your account if you don’t remember it or no longer have access.

On the recovery screen there are two options;Nic-handle or TaxPayer No. You must choose the second option, perform recovery by TaxPayer No.

Then you have to enter the country and ID/CIF of the domain holder. Once entered click on the option Recover Password.

You will see that on the same screen you indicate that an email has been sent for password recovery and access. The email is sent to the account associated with the domain holder.

Access the email account associated with the holder and click on the link in the email sent by DNS.pt.

By clicking on the link you will access the page to change the password. On this screen you can see the Nic Handle (code you need to access the dashboard). You must enter the new password and click on Submit.

2.- Get the AuthCode
Now you have changed your password and you can access the DNS.pt dashboard by entering your details; the Nic Handle and password, and tap on Sign in.

You will access your DNS.pt user dashboard where you need to click on Domain ID, which is the green number in the 'Process" section.

You will enter the domain information screen, where you have to hover the "Actions" drop-down and choose the option Transfer domain Management.

By clicking on the "Transfer Domain Managment" option shows you a query to confirm the action and where you should click on Confirm.

Once the action has been confirmed you will see the next screen, where you are told the Auth Code of your .pt domain.

The Auth Code is not only displayed on screen, it is also emailed to the email account associated with the domain holder.

Now that you have the Auth Code you can request the transfer of your .pt domain.
