How to Import/Export with Mac Mail

Export from Mac Mail

 

Open the Mac Mail application and select  “Mailboxes” from the menu on the left.

 

Go to the top of the folder and right-click.

 

Select the option “Export Mailbox” from the drop-down menu that appears.

Next, select where you want to store the export.

An mbox file will be saved in the folder you selected. Please note that this is a copy of one specific folder.

 

Import from Mac Mail

 

To import from Mac Mail, open this email client and go to the top menu ''File''.

 

Select the option ''Import Mailboxes''.

Select Import data from ''Apple Mail'', since in this case we exported from this email client.

It will ask us to ''select the .mbox file'' to recover the accounts stored in that file.

Depending on the size of the file being imported, it may take more or less time.

 

Click ''Continue'' and the file import back into MAC MAIL will begin.
