Better Search and Replace is a simple plugin used to update URLs or other text directly in the database. It is commonly used when a website has been duplicated and the database still contains references to the original domain. This plugin allows you to replace specific strings with new ones easily:

 

 

First, log in to your WordPress admin panel and go to the Plugins section. Then click on "Add New":

 

 

Next, use the search bar in the top right corner and search for the plugin name "Better Search and Replace". From the first result, click on "Install Now".

 

 

Once the installation is complete, click on "Activate" so the plugin can be used:

 

 

How to use Better Search and Replace in WordPress: To access the plugin settings and options, go to the WordPress menu, click on "Tools", and then select "Better Search Replace":

 

 

Once inside, the first field allows you to enter the text you want to replace, and the second field is where you enter the new text that will replace it. As mentioned earlier, this plugin is typically used after cloning a website to a different domain, allowing you to replace the old domain with the new one easily. However, it can also be used for any type of bulk change you want to make in your database.

 

 

It is important that in the third section ("Select tables") you select all tables, unless you specifically do not want the changes to apply to certain ones.

 

Finally, pay attention to the last option, "Run as dry run?". This option is enabled by default. If you want the changes made by Better Search and Replace to be applied, you must uncheck this option before running the process.
