How to make a copy of compressed web and how to download it

From the control panel, you can run a compression of your entire website in order to download it later or keep it as a backup copy from a specific day. To do this, you must access your control panel and go to the management of the corresponding hosting:

Next, go to the "File Managers" section and click on the icon, "Make a compressed web copy":

A message will appear indicating that the process will take several minutes. Click on "Accept":

Finally, you will see a notification indicating that the copy has started and will be stored on the server. You will also receive an email once the copy has finished.

How to download the compressed website copy: To download it, you need to connect to your hosting using an FTP client (at cdmon we recommend using FileZilla -> How to connect via FTP using FileZilla)

To connect, you must copy the FTP username and password, which you can obtain in the hosting information section of your panel:

Once obtained, open your FTP client and connect to your hosting:

  • Server: The name of your domain (in the images we use bendiciones247.com as an example).
  • Username: The FTP username shown in your control panel.
  • Password: The FTP password shown in your control panel.

After clicking on "Quickconnect", you will see a notification indicating that the connection is insecure. Click on "Accept":

You are now connected to the hosting. The compressed file is located in the /backup folder (in the hosting root). It is always a .zip file.

Finally, right-click on the file and select the "Download" option.

The file will then start downloading locally to your device.

Where is the database inside the compressed file? The website compression also includes the database created for the hosting.

To view it, you must extract the downloaded file and go to the tmp_databases_dump folder:
