How to restrict access to FTP

How to restrict access to FTP

For security or management reasons, you may need to allow FTP access only to one or several IP addresses, thus preventing other untrusted IPs from accessing the service. In this way, you ensure that only you or your local environment can access the FTP service of your hosting.

This action can be carried out from the cdmon Control Panel. To do so, you must access the hosting management and in the "File managers" section click on the FTP option.

To add one or more IP addresses to the access control system, click on the Add an IP address option in the 'List of IPs with FTP access' section.

Here you must enter the IP address that you want to allow access to the FTP service. The IP shown in the image is only an example. Your IP will appear below the text field.

Once the IP has been entered, click on the Add IP option and it will be registered in the system as an authorized IP. Any IP that is not on the list will not have access, either as a main or secondary user.

Now in the "List of IPs with FTP access" you can see all the IP addresses that have FTP access. If at any time you need to remove one of the IPs, you can do so by clicking on the Remove this IP option in the 'Actions' section.
