How to set up a multidomain in web hosting

The web multidomain service in the Control Panel allows you to host additional domains in subfolders of your web hosting account. This tool is intended for hosting projects that do not require many resources or email service.

To add a domain to your web hosting, in the cdmon control panel access the hosting management section and in the 'Domains' section click on the option
Web Multidomains

1.- Add a domain
To add domains, click on Add domain.

Enter the domain you want to host and the directory within the hosting account that will contain the website. If the folder does not exist, it will be created automatically.

The created domains will appear in the list, from where you can edit or delete them:

2.- Advanced information
  • Domains added to the main hosting account consume the resources of that hosting account, and visits will be reflected in the general statistics.
  • Creating a web multidomain implies the creation of a DNS record, and this process is carried out automatically.
  • If the domain uses cdmon DNS, you only need to wait for DNS propagation, a process that may take approximately 5 minutes. If, on the other hand, the domain’s DNS management is outside cdmon, you must configure the DNS record with the IP assigned to your hosting account. You can find the IP on the same screen.
  • You must keep in mind that web multidomains are only valid for the web server: they are not effective for email or FTP services.
