If you have a cdmon account, you can also configure it in Hotmail (Outlook Live) in four simple steps.
In this example, we use the account “demo@example.com”. This address must be replaced with the email account you want to configure.
1.- Account configuration
The first step is to access Hotmail (Outlook Live) using an existing account. Click the Settings icon and then select View all Outlook settings.
Once inside, go to Mail > Sync email and then click on Other email accounts.
In this section, you must enter the name for this account, the specific email address, and the password. You must also choose where to store received emails, either in a new or existing folder. Once completed and the folder has been selected, click OK.
You will return to the “Sync email” page, where you must access the account settings by clicking the pencil icon.
On the “Connected account editing” page, you must check and complete the following sections:
Display name: the name you want to appear when sending emails.
Username: this is the full email account.
Password: enter the email account password.
Incoming server (IMAP): check or modify if necessary so that the server is: imap.yourdomain.com.
Incoming server port: must be 143.
Authentication: you must set it to "basic".
Encryption: you must set it to no encryption (none).
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): the outgoing mail server is smtp. followed by your domain name (smtp.yourdomain.com).
Outgoing server port: you must specify port 25.
Once checked and completed, click Save.
The account is now configured. If you go to the inbox, you can see that the email account has been created with its corresponding folders. Please note that the “Sent Items” folder is shared among all accounts.
2.- Remove the account
To remove the account configuration, go to the “Settings” section and click on View all Outlook settings.
Once inside, go to Mail > Sync email and then click on Other email accounts. There you must click the trash bin icon to remove the account. Once deleted, click Save.
You may notice that the account still appears in the mailbox list. This is because Outlook keeps the account history. Therefore, if you want to completely remove everything related to the account, you must delete the folders. To do this, right-click on the email account and select Delete folder.
