If you want to configure your email in Outlook 2003, you can do it quickly and easily.
In this case, we use the account “demo@example.com” as an example. This address must be replaced with the name of the email account to be configured.
1.-Previous account configuration
Start Outlook 2003 from Start > Programs > Microsoft Office > Outlook 2003.
If this is the first time you open it, a wizard will appear. Otherwise, go to the menu and select “Tools” and “E-mail Accounts”; the initial screen will appear. Click the Next button.
Select “Add a new e-mail account” and click Next.
It will now ask you which type of server you are going to use. In your case, you can select POP3 or IMAP (for this example we will use IMAP). With IMAP, you will have a copy of the emails on the server and you will also be able to check them from the Webmail service. Select this option and click Next.
2.-Main account details
In the next window you must fill in all the fields:
- Your name: this name will be shown to the email recipients. For example: Info.
- E-mail address: enter the email address that will be shown to the recipient for replying to emails.
- Incoming mail server: this is the IMAP server. It would be imap.yourdomain.com.
- Outgoing mail server: this is the SMTP server. It would be smtp.yourdomain.com.
In Username and Password, you must enter the user details assigned to that account.
After completing all the fields and before continuing, you must click the “More Settings...” button.
It is very important to go to the following “Outgoing Server” tab and configure it as shown below. Select “My outgoing server requires authentication” and “Use same settings as my incoming mail server”.
Next, click the “Advanced” tab and configure the server port numbers. As shown in the following image, for the Incoming Server (IMAP) it must be: 993 and for the Outgoing Server (SMTP) it must be: 465.
You now have your cdmon email account configured in Outlook 2003.
