How to set up SMTP outgoing mail in Gmail with a cdmon account

Sometimes, when using a cdmon email account in the Gmail application, it may not be able to connect with the server security certificate. The message should look like the following:

As indicated in the error message, it is necessary to manually modify the account settings in Gmail so it can connect again.

How to configure the outgoing mail of an account already configured in Gmail

First, access your Gmail account and go to its settings. A quick settings window will open, but you must click on "See all settings":

Once inside, access "Accounts and Import".

In "Send mail as", on the account that is having issues, click "Edit info". From here you can also configure which account to use when replying to messages.

The account configuration will start here. In Name, enter the name you want people to see when they receive your emails. Click "Next step" to continue.

Next, the SMTP sending details of the account will appear. The details must be like those shown in the following image, but using your domain’s server. In the example, we used "bendiciones247.com":

  • SMTP server: smtp.yourdomain.com
  • Password: The password of the account itself
  • Port: 465
  • Secured connection using SSL

If we enter the password correctly, the window will close automatically and we will return to the "Accounts and Import" section.

IMPORTANT: Sometimes, signing in does not work when editing an already configured account. In those cases, it is recommended to remove the account configuration from "Send mail as" and add it as if it were a new account:
