How to turn the FTP service on or off

For security reasons or hosting management purposes, you may need to temporarily disable the FTP service. This action can be performed from the Control Panel of cdmon.

To disable the FTP service, you must access the hosting management and click on the FTP icon that you can find in the 'File managers' section.

Within the FTP management section, you will find at the top the option to enable or disable the FTP service. You only need to click the button to activate or deactivate the FTP service.

Disabling the service affects all users equally, both the main user and secondary users. This means that none of them will be able to connect via webFTP or through an external client (FileZilla, WinSCP, etc.).

Important: For security and server stability reasons, the service will be automatically disabled for hosting accounts that have not accessed FTP for 12 days. To reactivate it, simply follow the steps in this guide and, additionally, it will be necessary to connect to the server, meaning that you must access via FTP and upload or download files so that the service is not automatically disabled again.
