Server cache is a key tool for improving the speed and efficiency of your website. In essence, it works by storing copies of your site's pages and resources in a quick access location, reducing the need to load them from scratch whenever someone visits your page. This translates into a faster and more efficient user experience.
In this article, we will provide you with an explanation of the types of cache we have and how to activate it on your hosting.
To go to the Cache section, you must access the Hosting management which wants to modify and go to the Server section, to the logo of "Manage Cache":
Once inside, you will already be in the window to manage the hosting cache. The first thing you need to do is trigger the cache in hosting, as it is disabled by default:
When enabled, you will be able to see a list of the Cache types we have.
Here is a brief explanation of what kind of websites should be activated in each and considerations to be taken into account:
- Basic Cache: The basic cache is an excellent choice for simple websites that want an overall performance improvement. It caches on the server to improve content delivery without too much customization.
- Static Cache: This option is ideal for websites that have a lot of static content, such as images, simple HTML, CSS, etc. However, it does not store dynamic content, such as PHP code or frequently changes content.
- Wordpress Cache: If you have a website built in WordPress, this WordPress-specific setting is the perfect choice. Optimize the cache for WordPress particularities, including plugin and theme management.
- Joomla Cache: The Joomla-specific cache is designed for websites operating with the Joomla content management system. Optimize the cache for the specific needs of this platform.
- Wordpress and Joomla settings take into account cookies and cache-sensitive routes, and thus avoid problems with shopping cart or web administration.

Considerations for Multidomains/Subdomains
If you have multi-domain hosting, it is important to carefully consider what kind of cache to activate. In situations where you have multiple sites in different folders, the basic cache is the safest choice. Using the specific WordPress or Joomla cache in a domain can lead to conflicts and errors with other domains in the same hosting.

This means that all copies stored in the cached will be deleted, and the next time someone visits your site, an updated new copy will be generated.
