Important: Currently, this system only applies to Virtual Up servers
cdmon has an automatic system to maintain server integrity, ensuring that even if there is a significant increase in resource consumption by a hosting, the server will remain stable, reducing the impact on the other websites hosted.
When this happens, you will receive an email informing you of the hosting(s) causing the saturation and the measures taken to maintain the server's integrity.
Example of the email you may receive:
This is an automatic email generated by our server crash detection and prevention system.
We have detected that the website hosted-domain.com is experiencing excessive server resource consumption. As a result, the server is not responding correctly, as well as all the other websites hosted there.
For this reason, we have limited the response capacity of the hosted-domain.com website, and we have reduced the following parameters:
Reduction of 20% in the maximum execution time of PHP files, from 30 to 24 seconds.
Reduction of 20% in the maximum number of simultaneous connections to the website*, from 128 to 102 connections.
Configuration of values
These values are temporary while the service is saturated and may be increased further if necessary to maintain server integrity. Once the load decreases, the values will be automatically restored.
Causes of saturation
The reasons why the server is saturated may be several, including:
- Number of visits exceeding what the server can handle.
- A single page receiving many visits.
- Too many pages receiving visits at the same time.
- Programming issues causing high CPU or memory consumption.
Avoiding restrictions
To avoid these restrictions, you can increase the CPU and memory of the server from the control panel using the “Modify features” button on the product management page, or you can contact our technical support, who will help you perform this operation. More information can be found on the page Modify the features of the Managed Virtual Up Server.
Facilitating the upgrade
When upgrading the server, you can pay by reducing the expiration date and revert to the current state by performing the same operation, restoring the expiration date. Note that modifying features will restart the server and the hosted websites will be offline for a few minutes.
Additional consumption information
For more information, you can access the “Hardware Graphs” page in the Virtual Up server control panel, where you can see system graphs (CPU and memory usage) and web service graphs.
