.asia Domain Information

Here you will find all the information related to .asia domains.

General information
On December 06, 2006, ICANN approved the registration of .asia domains, promoted by the DotAsia Organisation.
.asia domain registrations are absolutely essential for opening markets in the Asian continent. In addition, many domain names are still available compared to .net and .com domains.

Motivation to register a .asia domain
Any person or entity can register a .asia domain, as long as at least the administrative contact of the domain has a postal address in the Asian community. With more than 60% of the world’s population (and more than 90 languages), Asia is a region experiencing major economic, cultural, and technological growth.

  • Available domain: the domain has not yet been registered, so it is free for registration. When a registration request is sent, it will be assigned to the first request received.
  • Registered domain: when a request is sent for an available domain, it is assigned to the requester. When submitting a registration request, it can be requested for 1 to 10 years.
  • Active domain: the domain will be active during the registered years. During this period you can extend the registration to avoid expiration.
  • Grace period: the domain has expired and stops working. This period lasts 30 days during which you can renew the domain without penalty.
  • Redemption period: this period lasts 30 days, during which the domain has been deleted but can be restored and renewed at a higher price than the usual renewal.
  • Pending delete period: the domain cannot be restored and will be released.
