Here you will find all the information related to .biz domains.
.biz is a generic Internet domain (TLD) intended for business use; the name is the phonetic spelling of the first syllable of "business". It was created to relieve the demand for the finite number of domain names available under the .com top-level domain and to provide an alternative to businesses that preferred a .com domain name that had already been registered by third parties. There are no specific legal or geographic requirements to register a .biz domain name, except that it must be used strictly for commercial purposes, and typical legal remedies for trademark infringement apply. It was created in 2001 along with several others as part of the first batch of new gTLDs approved by ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) following the boom of Internet interest in the 1990s. It is administered by Neulevel.
Motivation for registering a .biz domain
It is currently restricted for commercial use. If you were unable to register your .com domain because it was taken by third parties, this is your domain. DNS server propagation time is under one minute. It is also one of the most secure extensions as you can enable DNSSEC.

Since domains have an expiration date, they follow a lifecycle consisting of several phases or periods.
This lifecycle is established by ICANN, the entity responsible for domain regulations.
The following chart shows the lifecycle of a .NET domain and its states.
- Available domain: the domain has not been registered yet and is free to be registered. It will be assigned to the first received request.
- Registered domain: when a request is sent for an available domain, it is assigned to the requester. Registration can be requested for 1 to 10 years.
- Active domain: the domain will remain active for the number of years requested during registration. During this period, it can be renewed to avoid expiration.
- Grace period: the domain has expired and stops working. This period lasts 40 days, during which it can be renewed without penalty.
- Redemption period: this period lasts 30 days. The domain has been deleted but can still be restored and renewed at a higher price.
- Pending delete: the domain cannot be restored and will be released.
