ConnectiLogs Panel | Dashboards

Dashboards in ConnectiLogs are customizable panels that allow you to easily visualize the most relevant information from your data. Their main advantage is that they let you access the information you need quickly and directly, without having to create or run queries every time you want to check the status of your services, as well as being able to view multiple queries on a single page.

Thanks to dashboards, you can monitor access, domain activity, security alerts, user actions, and any other type of log at a glance. The information is presented in a fully customizable way, which is important because everyone has different needs.

Dashboards are designed for continuous use. They are especially useful for detecting behavior patterns from multiple sources, identifying incidents or potential threats, and constantly tracking your services' activity.

In ConnectiLogs, you can create fully customizable dashboards, add multiple queries to the same panel, choose different visualization types for each one, and organize the information according to your needs. Additionally, you have the option to export the data for external analysis or to share it with other users if needed.

Queries
The first thing you need to know is what a query is within ConnectiLogs.
A query is how you request specific information from the logs of a collection. Each query defines what data you want to see and how you want to visualize it.

In other words, a query is a search that you can build yourself according to your needs. You don’t need technical knowledge or programming language: ConnectiLogs offers you a visual environment where you can select sources, apply filters, choose operators, and decide the format in which you will see the results. For more information on how to create a query, access the following support link (ConnectiLogs Panel | Query Builder)

For example, you can create a query to view access to a specific user's control panel, detect failed login attempts, review malware threats detected on your domains, or analyze server activity within a specific date range.

Each query can have a different purpose, and you decide what information to include and how to represent it.

Create a dashboard
To begin, go to the dashboards section within ConnectiLogs and select the "Create new dashboard" option. A panel will open where you can assign a name.

Once created, the dashboard will appear in your panel list and you can open it to start adding queries and visualizations. Each dashboard is fully customizable, and you can add as many queries as you need to have all the information in one place.

You should know that all queries you add must belong to the same category within a dashboard.

Important: In the free version of ConnectiLogs, you will only have a total of 3 customizable dashboards with up to 5 queries in each one.

Add queries to the dashboard
After creating the dashboard, the next step is to add queries. ConnectiLogs allows you to include any query you have previously created, whether it's a table, an aggregated table, a pivot, a bar chart, line chart, area chart, or pie chart.

When you click "add query", the query builder view will open in query creation mode for the dashboard:

We must follow the steps in the Query Builder guide (add link) to create the query you wish to add to the dashboard, and once configured, you can add it to your dashboard by clicking the "Add to dashboard" button.

At this point, there are several paths.

Add the query to the dashboard you came from
To add the query to the dashboard you just created, you just need to assign a name to the query you just created. By default, only the dashboard you came from and where you clicked the "add query" button will appear in the dashboard search box.

Steps:
  1. Assign a name to the query.
  2. Click the "Add here" button to add the query.
  3. The system will show you a confirmation message that it has been added successfully, and from the confirmation message we will give you a link to directly access the dashboard.
Add the query to an existing dashboard other than the one you came from
However, if during the process you realize that this query might fit better into another existing dashboard, we also give you the option to search for it and add it there. You will also need to assign a name to the query:

Steps:
  1. Assign a name to the query.
  2. In the second step, where we show you the name of the dashboard you came from by default, you can edit it and enter another dashboard name that might better fit the query.
  3. Finally, click the "Add here" button to add it to that dashboard.
  4. The system will show you a confirmation message that it has been added successfully, and from the confirmation message we will give you a link to directly access the dashboard.
Add the query to a new dashboard
Finally, we also give you the option to create a completely new dashboard from scratch if you change your mind, so you don't have to regenerate the query.

Assign a name to your query and then click the "New dashboard" button.

A small box will open for you to give a name to this new dashboard and to create it. Once it has a name, click "Create dashboard".

And then you just need to add the query to the new dashboard using the "Add here" button:

Steps:
  1. Assign a name to the query.
  2. Click the "New dashboard" button.
  3. Enter a name for this new dashboard and click the "Create dashboard" button.
  4. Now just click "Add here" on the newly created dashboard.
  5. The system will show you a confirmation message that it has been added successfully, and from the confirmation message we will give you a link to directly access the dashboard.
When adding a query to the dashboard, you can:
  1. Choose the visualization: each query maintains the chart or table type you defined when creating it.
  2. Organize it in the panel: you can move the query to any position using drag and drop.
  3. Rename it: assign a descriptive title to each query within the dashboard to quickly identify what it represents.
This allows you to create a panel that combines detailed information and aggregated visualizations, tailored to what you need to analyze at any given time.

You also have the option to add a query to a dashboard (existing or not) directly from the Query Builder itself.

Apply filters within the dashboard
Although each query can already have its own defined conditions, from the dashboard it is also possible to adjust the general visualization of the data by applying certain common parameters, such as the viewing date or the source you want to query.

Thanks to this functionality, dashboards become a very practical tool for visualizing information for each service without needing to create the queries again. Just adjust the date or source, and all charts and tables will automatically update, reflecting the information. Thus, the dashboard acts as a dynamic and global view that adapts to what you want to analyze at any time, without having to rebuild queries or duplicate information.

Save and share dashboards
ConnectiLogs maintains the layout, queries, and filters you have applied, so you can view them at any time.
