Question: What is a .xxx domain?
Answer: It is a domain extension for the adult online content industry.
Q: How do I register a .xxx domain?
Q: What does it mean if the domain is active or inactive?
A: When registering a .xxx domain you must select whether you wish to have the domain active or inactive:
Select this option if you want to host a website with adult content. Activation is not immediate.
Select this option if you want to protect your brand. Visits to the domain will resolve to an ICM Registry website, indicating that the domain is inoperative.
Q: How do I activate a .xxx domain?
A: In order for a .xxx domain to be active (resolve at DNS level), it is necessary to associate a unique identifier to it.
This identifier is obtained by registering as a member of the sponsored community.
You can apply to become a member of the sector in ICM Registry and once registered you will obtain an identifier.
This identifier must be inserted in the control panel of your domain at cdmon.
If you have applied for an inactive .xxx domain and now wish to activate it, please contact us.
Q: How do I register in the sponsored community?
A: When you apply to register an active .xxx domain, ICM Registry sends an email to the domain owner to register in the sponsored community.
This message is sent only once per registrant. If you have already validated, you will not receive this notification again.
To complete the registration process, you must follow these steps:
In the message received, follow the link to access the ICM website to complete the community member validation process.
You will need to complete the registration/validation form. Remember to provide a valid phone number.
ICM will call the new member to validate the registration, and will provide the new member with a PIN number that you will need to complete the registration process on the website.
Once the registration is completed, you will be able to obtain from the ICM website a unique identifier that you will need for your .xxx domains associated to your owner email to be operational.
Remember that you must insert this identifier in your control panel, so that we can associate it to your .xxx domain.
Complete information about the validation process and an explanatory video are available on the ICMRegistry website.
Q: I don't remember my member ID, how can I retrieve it?
A: If you have not received the validation message from ICM Registry, or you do not remember your member ID, access the Member log in section of the ICM Registry website. You have a link in case you forgot your password or wish to receive the validation email again.
