If the server where your hosting is located is compatible with the service, you can follow the
instructions below to modify the PHP version and assign the desired version to work with.
Keep in mind that PHP versions without official support (EOL) are now managed through the PHP Legacy add-on.
For more details about what PHP Legacy is, the differences between supported versions and EOL versions,
and the associated costs, we recommend checking the guide PHP Legacy and how it affects your hosting at cdmon.
Access the hosting management panel
Access the hosting management you want to modify. At the top, in the Hosting information section,
you will see the option PHP version with the current version of your plan and the Change button.
Open the PHP configuration section
By clicking the Change button, you will access the PHP configuration section. At the top you will see the field PHP version for your hosting with a dropdown showing the version currently assigned.
3. View available PHP versions and select the new PHP version
Click the PHP version for your hosting dropdown to view all available versions.
This list includes:
Supported PHP versions, indicating until what date they have support.
PHP Legacy versions (EOL), indicating the date they lost support and the monthly cost associated with their use.
This information will help you decide which version suits you best, especially if you have an application
that only works with older PHP versions.
Select the PHP version you want to use for your hosting from the dropdown. Then click the Change version button. If you select a version with active support, the change will be applied immediately after confirmation.
If you select a PHP Legacy version, a warning will appear informing you that the version is EOL and that you need to activate the PHP Legacy add-on in order to use it, along with the corresponding monthly cost.
4. Payment options and activation of PHP Legacy
The next screen will show the options to activate the PHP Legacy add-on:
Add the monthly cost to the hosting plan, making the corresponding payment with the
payment method you have configured or the one you choose at that time.
Update the hosting expiration date, deducting from the remaining duration of the plan
the amount equivalent to the add-on cost.
Once you have chosen your preferred option and completed the process, click Activate PHP Legacy.
The system will process the request and apply the new PHP configuration to your hosting.
5. Confirmation of the version change
If everything has gone correctly, the panel will show a message indicating that the PHP version has been successfully updated.
In the Hosting information section you will now see the new assigned PHP version.
Note: if you already had a PHP version in EOL status assigned before our publication, the reduction of the expiration date will be applied automatically starting on January 1, 2026.
