How to set up email on Android

IMPORTANT: For security reasons, port 25 has been disabled for sending emails. If your email client is configured with this port, you will need to update it in order to continue sending emails. New recommended configuration:

How to change the outgoing port on Android
  1. Open the email app 
  2. Go to Settings > select your account
  3. Access Outgoing server (SMTP)
  4. Modify:
    1. Port: 587
    2. Security: STARTTLS or TLS
    3. Authentication: enabled
  5. Save the changes

In this case, the account “videos@laboratoriocc.click” is used as an example; this address must be replaced with the name of the email account to be configured.
 
 
Below, we explain how to create a new email account. You also have the option to modify an existing email account. 


1.- Initial account setup 
  1. Access the "Gmail" application. You can also search for it in the list of applications: 

  1. Tap the profile icon of your Gmail account:


  1. Next, we will have to tap "Add another account".
 
 
  1. Select "Other service"
 
  1. Enter the username (the full email account):
 
 
  1. You can configure the account with the protocol you prefer; in this example, we will configure the account as IMAP:  Difference between IMAP and POP3


  1. Next, it requests the account password:


2.- Main account details
 
Next, configure the incoming server:
  1. Username: your email address (e.g. info@yourdomain.com)
  2. Password: the email password
  3. Server: imap.yourdomain.com
  4. Make sure to replace yourdomain.com with your real domain
.
 
Now configure the outgoing SMTP server:
  1. Username: your email address (e.g. info@yourdomain.com)
  2. Password: the email password
  3. SMTP server: smtp.yourdomain.com
  4. Make sure to replace yourdomain.com with your real domain
 
 
  1. Configure the following options, which may vary depending on your preferences:
 
 
Finally, the email account is now configured in the Android email application
  1. To finish, enter the name you want to assign to the account:
