Here you will find all the information regarding .me domains.
After Montenegro’s independence in June 2006, the new Government of Montenegro submitted a request to IANA for the .me domain to be designated as the country’s top-level domain (TLD). The delegation was approved in September 2007.
Given the strong appeal of this domain, the government of Montenegro promoted widespread use of the .me domain. In November 2007, a Registry Agent was selected to provide a global registration platform, carry out international registration operations, and provide marketing expertise.
Just two years after its launch, more than 400,000 .me domains had been registered.

Active domain: the domain will be active for the number of years for which it was registered. During this period, you may extend the registration to prevent the domain from expiring.
Grace period: the domain has expired and stops working. This period lasts 30 days and you can renew the domain without penalty.
Redemption period: this period lasts 30 days, during which the domain has been deleted but can be restored and renewed at a higher cost than the standard renewal price.
Pending delete period: the domain can no longer be restored and will be released.
