If you want to migrate the content of a website from another provider to cdmon, you must take into account a series of requirements to ensure that the website is 100% compatible with our servers.
The platform we use is LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP). Therefore, if you use a Windows-based system with programming other than PHP or HTML, the website may not work.
If you use versions different from the ones we offer, it is possible that after the migration PHP errors may appear or the website may not display correctly.
You also need to know whether the website uses a CMS. If so, you should indicate which one it is and whether it uses custom code, plugins or external modules.
Once these requirements have been reviewed, the first thing you need is to be registered as a cdmon user. You can do this through the following link:
Once your user has been validated, you need hosting compatible with the needs of the project.
How to purchase web hosting at cdmon?
Before purchasing web hosting, you must know the properties your website needs. By properties we mean the number of MB (megabytes) the website occupies (web space), the number of email accounts, and whether you need support for programming (PHP) or databases.
If you are unsure which product to choose, you can send a query by email to comercial@cdmon.com or call the sales department at 91 182 27 67. Once you know the necessary resources, select the desired service from the shared hosting section.
You should take into account:
Contract period: The time for which you want to purchase the hosting.
Web space: The space you want to have available on the hosting.
Transfer: The amount of data you can transfer.
Email accounts: The number of email accounts you want to create.
Domain associated with the hosting: enter the domain name you want to associate with the hosting you are purchasing. Remember that it is important to type the domain correctly, with its extension and without WWW.
Temporary subdomain: this subdomain is an alias of your web hosting. The structure is like: yourdomain.com.mialias.net. This address is useful because while your previous hosting continues working with yourdomain.com you can access the one at cdmon through yourdomain.com.mialias.net, upload the website via FTP, access the database manager, view it in a browser and check that everything works correctly. For more information click here. IP addresses: you will also see the IP addresses (if you do not know what an IP address is click here) of the web and email servers. This information is only necessary for advanced users. FTP details: FTP username and password (if you do not know what FTP is click here). These details will be necessary to upload website content to your hosting.
Hosted plans panel
Once the hosting has been created, you can access its configuration. Inside the main control panel you will find another panel called hosted plans. This is the tool that allows you to configure the hosting.
Upload a website using FTP
If you have never performed this operation before, access the following tutorial where you will learn how to do it in a few simple steps:
Website with database? Exporting with phpMyAdmin
There is also a tutorial that may help guide you through the database import/export process.
Create email accounts
You must also create the email accounts exactly as they existed on your previous hosting.
If you do not create them in the new hosting, emails cannot be delivered because the accounts do not exist in cdmon.
Modifying DNS servers (domain registered with cdmon)
Once you have uploaded the website and created the email accounts, you can modify the DNS servers of the domain so that it starts using the new hosting.

How to transfer a domain to cdmon
Once your hosting has been migrated but your domain is still not registered at cdmon, you can transfer your domain.
The domain can be transferred before or after you migrate the hosting. The important thing is to do it at least 15 days before it expires.
