Registering a .mx or .com.mx domain

Restrictions
Restrictions for registering .mx and .com.mx domains
  • .mx and .com.mx domains can have a maximum of 63 characters and a minimum of 3.
  • Accepted characters for domain registration are: a-z, 0-9, and hyphen (-). The hyphen cannot be the first or last character of the domain name. 
  • They can only be registered for a maximum period of up to 5 years.
Restrictions for renewing .mx and .com.mx domains
  • A .mx domain can be renewed for a maximum period of up to 5 years.
  • They cannot be renewed earlier than 60 days before expiration.
Restrictions for transferring .mx and .com.mx domains
  • .mx and .com.mx domains cannot be transferred if they are expired.
  • .mx and .com.mx domains cannot be transferred if they are in clientTransferProhibited status.
  • To initiate the transfer of .mx and .com.mx domains, the AUTH CODE is required.
