Restrictions
 Restrictions for registering .no domains:
  • The owner must be a Norwegian organization with a valid number in the Brønnøysund Register Centre (Enhetsregisteret).
  • The owner and administrative contacts must have a contact address in Norway.
  • The administrative contact must be related to the organization that owns the domain.
  • If the owner is an individual residing in Norway, the PID number must be provided.
  • .no domains can have a maximum of 63 characters and a minimum of 3.
  • Changing the domain owner implies a Trade and resets the expiration date from the moment the change is completed. Therefore, it is not recommended to change the owner right after registering or renewing the domain, as the paid year would be lost. Additionally, to initiate the Trade process, a fax must be sent to the Registry.
 
Restrictions for renewing .no domains:
  • The maximum renewal period for the domain is one year.
  • They cannot be renewed earlier than 60 days before expiration.
 
Restrictions for transferring .no domains:
  • Expired .no domains cannot be transferred to cdmon.
  • .no domains cannot be transferred if they are in clientTransferProhibited status.
