Pilotron | PHP management in cdmon

Pilotron is your artificial intelligence assistant in the cdmon control panel. With this tool, you can manage and obtain information about the PHP of your hostings quickly and easily, without the need to manually navigate through the control panel.

In this guide, we explain the actions you can currently perform to manage the PHP service with Pilotron.

How to access Pilotron?
Accessing Pilotron is very easy. Just follow these steps:
  1. Log in to your cdmon control panel.
  2. In the bottom right corner of the screen, you will see the Pilotron button. Click on it.
  3. An interactive chat window will open where you can start interacting with the assistant.

What actions can you perform with Pilotron?
Currently, Pilotron allows you to perform the following actions related to your PHP service:
1. Check the PHP version
With Pilotron you can quickly check which PHP version is active on a hosting account.
In the chat, type something like "What is my PHP version?" or "Which PHP version do I have on [hosting name]". Pilotron will return the PHP version assigned to the indicated hosting.

2. Change the PHP version
You can easily modify the PHP version of a specific hosting account.
In the chat, type something like "I want to change my PHP version" or "Change PHP version on [hosting name]". Pilotron will display a form with the available PHP versions. You can select the one you prefer and click "Submit" to confirm the change.

3. Change the PHP version for all hostings
Pilotron also allows you to apply a PHP version globally to all your hosting accounts.

In the chat, type something like "Change PHP version on all my hostings". Pilotron will display a form where you can select which hostings you want to apply this mass change to. If you have a Virtual/Dedicated server as well as shared hosting plans (Junior, Senior, etc.), it will allow you to choose where you want to apply this change:

4. Modify PHP configuration
You can modify all PHP settings of a hosting account with a single phrase, including the PHP version, which directives should be enabled/disabled, and the PHP values assigned to the selected hosting.

In the chat, type something like "I want to change my PHP configuration". Pilotron will guide you step by step to modify all available PHP settings of a hosting account. It will ask you to confirm the values and directives you want to enable. You must click "Next" to continue through all the options.

The next step is to confirm the directives you want to have enabled on the selected hosting. Then you will be asked to enter the PHP values you want to assign to the hosting. We explain these steps in the following sections.
5. Check if the allow_url_fopen directive is active and how to enable it
With Pilotron you can check the status of this directive and, if it is disabled, enable it directly.

In the chat, type something like "Is allow_url_fopen enabled?" or "I want to enable fopen access on [hosting name]".

6. Check if the display_errors directive is active and how to enable it
With Pilotron you can check the status of this directive and, if it is disabled, enable it directly.

In the chat, type something like "Is the display_errors directive enabled?" or "I want to display my website errors on screen on [hosting name]".

7. Check if the temporary execution time extension is active and how to enable it
On cdmon hosting accounts you can enable the temporary execution time extension (increase max_execution_time for 1 hour). With Pilotron you can check its status and, if disabled, enable it directly.

In the chat, type something like "Is the temporary PHP execution time extension enabled?" or "I want to enable the temporary execution time extension on [hosting name]".

8. Check the current session variables configuration and how to edit them
Pilotron allows you to check and edit values related to PHP session duration. Specifically, you can view and modify the directives session.cookie_lifetime and session.gc_maxlifetime, which determine how long a session remains active.

In the chat, type something like "What is the current configuration of my session variables?" or "I want to modify the session variables on [hosting name]".

9. Check the status of POST and GET variables and how to edit them
Pilotron allows you to review and modify the data limits sent through forms or uploads on your hosting account. These are the values you can check and adjust:
  1. upload_max_filesize: maximum file size that can be uploaded (in MB)
  2. post_max_size: maximum data size sent via POST (in MB)
  3. max_input_vars: maximum number of variables a form can receive (via GET, POST or COOKIE)
In the chat, type something like "What is the status of my POST and GET variables?" or "I want to edit my POST and GET variables [hosting name]". Pilotron will display a form where you can edit these values and assign the ones you prefer (within the allowed range).
