States of a domain: Period of punishment (redemption period)
This is the period before the deletion of the domain and after the grace period. The cost of renewal is much higher, since in addition to the renewal a domain restoration is required. Restoration is a bureaucratic process to which the registry operator of the extension applies an additional fee. For this reason, we always recommend renewing the domain before it expires and, at the latest, during the grace period.
If you wish to renew a domain in this phase, it is also essential that you speed up the payment because the domain is very close to being deleted.
