Here you will find all the information related to .tel domains.

General information
The .tel domain is a generic Internet domain that is part of the sponsored top-level domain system (sTLD). The term sponsored means that the extension has a specific use and is not generic like .com or .net. The specific use of the .tel domain means that the domain can redirect to a regular website hosting by adding DNS servers or has its own hosting included in the registration price. This allows the .tel domain to store, publish, and update all your contact information and keywords on the web under a unique domain name without the need for a website. You can manage this from the control panel at https://www.managemy.tel.
It is managed by the registrar Telnic.

Access to the ManageMy.tel platform:

  2. To recover your account details, go to the website above and click the link “Forgot your password”.
  3. Enter your email address: example@gmail.com
  4. You will receive an email with your new username and temporary password. If you do not receive it, please check your SPAM folder.
  5. Use your new username and temporary password to access your new account at https://www.managemy.tel
  6. When you log in, make sure to change your password, as the temporary one can only be used once.

Motivation to register a .tel domain
It is ideal for businesses and professionals who want to provide users or customers with their always-updated contact details. Private individuals can also benefit from its functionality. The .tel domain is the first domain that uses DNS in a completely new way: as a global data store. By storing data directly in DNS, .tel offers the following advantages:
  • No website required: the contact information stored in DNS is displayed efficiently on any device without needing a website.
  • Speed: the domain name system is optimized for high speed. Since it is based on DNS, a .tel lookup takes only a fraction of a second—much faster than loading a normal webpage.
  • Real-time: when you update your data in the contact management panel, the changes are published immediately.
  • Greater control: search engines traditionally had to “read” entire webpages to infer keywords. The .tel domain uses the data stored in DNS to tell search engines exactly what the keywords are, improving search-result control.
  • Mobile optimized: .tel lookups generate very little traffic and the data is simple enough to integrate easily into mobile address books.
  • Scalable: DNS is a decentralized system that already handles billions of queries daily, making it ideal as a reliable global contact-data directory.
  • Global: DNS is omnipresent; all stored information is globally accessible from any Internet-connected device.
  • Encrypted: data stored in DNS can be encrypted so that only authorized users can access it, ensuring maximum privacy.

  • Available domain: the domain has not yet been registered and is therefore available. Once a registration request is submitted, it will be assigned to the first request received.
  • Registered domain: when a registration request is submitted for an available domain, it is assigned to the requester. The registration period can be from 1 to 10 years.
  • Active domain: the domain will remain active for the number of years for which it has been registered. During this period, the registration period can be extended to prevent expiration.
  • Grace period: the domain has expired and stops functioning. This period lasts 30 days and you can renew the domain without penalty.
  • Redemption period: this period lasts 30 days, during which the domain is deleted but can be restored and renewed at a cost higher than the regular renewal.
  • Pending delete period: the domain cannot be restored and is about to be released.
