.tv domain information

Here you will find all the information related to .tv domains.

General information
The .tv domain is the preferred top-level domain (TLD) for video, film, animation, and all types of dynamic media. It is the country-code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Tuvalu, but is universally associated with media, particularly television. The .tv domain works the same way as a .net or .com domain, but in this case, any address with the .tv extension will be easily remembered and identified.
When users visit a .tv domain, they understand that the website will be related to multimedia content, making this domain especially suitable for websites focused on audiovisual content, film, television, or entertainment in general.

  • Available domain: the domain has not yet been registered, and is therefore free for registration. Once a registration request is submitted, the domain is assigned to the first request received.
  • Registered domain: when a request is submitted for an available domain, it is assigned to the requesting person. When registering a domain, it can be registered for 1 to 10 years.
  • Active domain: the domain will remain active for the number of years it was registered for. During this period, additional years may be added to prevent the domain from expiring.
  • Grace period: the domain has expired and stops working. This period lasts 40 days and you can renew the domain without penalty fees.
  • Redemption period: this period lasts 30 days, during which the domain has been deleted but can be restored and renewed at a higher price than the usual renewal fee.
  • Pending delete: the domain can no longer be restored and will be released.
