In cdmon hosting, you have a white-label panel to grant access to another user and allow them to manage several hosting services. The advantage of this panel is that the user you give access to can only manage the options you choose for the hosting, without seeing the rest of the products you have contracted. Additionally, you can also customize its appearance. It is especially useful for resellers.
To increase the security of access to this panel, we have implemented two-step verification (2FA) for the white-label panel (Gestiona). With two-step verification, also known as two-factor authentication, an additional layer of protection is added to your account, meaning that a security code will be sent to an email address configured in our control panel to validate access to the white-label panel.
IMPORTANT: The white-label panel (Gestiona) has two main uses: being able to manage the options you wish for your cdmon hosting from said panel, and also to manage the email account within a specific hosting. For this, the email address of that account and its respective password are required. If you activate two-step verification, it will apply to all accesses to the white-label panel, both those for the hosting management panel and those attempting to access an email account. It is important to differentiate that two-factor verification does not apply in the same way for both cases:
Access to the white-label panel with the "
Control Panel Access Credentials": When accessing the Gestiona panel with two-step verification activated, a security code will be sent to the email address you configure in our control panel so that whenever you log in to said panel, this access code is required. You can find more information about this panel at the following link:
How to configure the White-label panel (Gestiona) Access to the white-label panel with
email and its password: If you log in to an email account in the white-label panel with two-step verification activated, that same email account will receive the two-step verification code. You can find more information about this panel at the following link:
How to configure email from the Gestiona panel.
To access the "White-label panel" configuration and activate two-step verification, in the 'Basic service list', you must click on the Hosting option of the hosting for which you want to activate the panel.
On the hosting management screen, you need to go to the "Product" section and click on the White-label panel option (Gestiona).
Once you click on the "White-label panel (Gestiona)" option, you will access the configuration of said panel, where you will find the following sections with the data to access the panel:
At the bottom right of the "Control Panel Access Credentials", the "Authentication Email" section is shown. By default, it appears as "Not verified".
To proceed with activating two-step verification, you only need to enter the email address you want to assign to receive the verification code for Gestiona panel accesses. Once entered, click on "Send verification". The system will display a confirmation that the email has been sent to the established address:
Next, a new email will be received at the address indicated in our control panel; it may take several minutes to receive the message. The text of the received email will be similar to this:
We have received a request to establish your email account ([Email Entered in Panel]) as the destination for receiving the verification code to access your hosting management panel.
Please provide this code to your administrator.
xxxxxx
This code is unique and will only be valid for the next 48 hours. If you did not make this request, please ignore this message.
With the code shown in the email, you can now proceed with the validation in our control panel. When returning to the same authentication email section, you can see that it is currently "Pending verification", click on "Validate" to continue:
A new window will then open to "Verify the authentication email", here you must enter the code received in the email and click on "Accept":
If the code is valid, the panel will display the email account as "Verified":
With these steps, you have activated two-step verification for access to your white-label panel (Gestiona). If you want to remove two-factor authentication from the white-label panel of this hosting, simply click on "Delete" on the same authentication email and the status will return to "Not verified"
Note: When you try to access the Gestiona panel without an authentication email configured in our panel, an error message will be displayed indicating that you cannot proceed without this configuration. This situation requires configuring an email address for two-step verification as described above.
Once the authentication email is configured and you try to access the panel, you will be asked to enter the security code sent to the email address you have set or to the same email account that is accessing, depending on how you access the Gestiona panel as specified at the beginning of the guide. Each time you log in, you must enter the code received at the indicated email address.
