Two-step verification to access the control panel (2factor)

Two-step verification to access the control panel (2factor)

At cdmon, your security and privacy are very important. For this reason, we have implemented two-factor authentication to access the control panel. You will need to download an authentication app on your smartphone such as Google Authenticator or Authy.

Two-factor authentication is optional and can be activated/deactivated from your cdmon control panel.

With this tutorial you will learn how to activate verification, how to log in using two-factor authentication, and how to disable it.

Enable two-factor authentication

In your cdmon control panel, go to User & Security from the "User management" dropdown.

Then go to the "Two-step verification (2FA)" section and enable the toggle:

You will be asked for a phone number to receive an SMS code, which is used to recover your account if you lose your 2FA codes. Enter your phone number and click Send SMS.

You will receive an SMS with a code. Enter it and click Verify and add phone.

You must now validate using one of the apps mentioned earlier. Scan the QR code and enter the 6-digit code generated. Then click Verify code.

Two-factor authentication will now be enabled, and you will be provided with a security code that we recommend saving in case you need to disable it.

Log in with two-factor authentication

Once enabled, you must complete two-step verification to access your cdmon control panel. Enter your username and password and click Login.

You will see the "Two-step verification" screen. Enter the 6-digit code from your authentication app and click Verify.

If the verification is correct, you will access your cdmon control panel.

Important: If you cannot access the authentication app, the deactivation code, or the SMS linked to your account, you will need to complete a legal request process to prove ownership of the account. For more information, click here.

Disable two-factor authentication

You have two options: from the cdmon control panel or from the website.

  • From the control panel

Go to User & Security from the "User management" dropdown.

Disable the option in the "Two-step verification" section.

The system will ask for confirmation. Click Accept to disable two-factor authentication.

  • From the cdmon website

Log in with your username and password.

On the verification screen, click I don't have access to the 2FA app.

You will have two options: use the deactivation code or receive an SMS. Choose one and click Disable.
