How to add the SOGo calendar to other email clients

SOGo allows you to synchronize your calendar with other clients easily thanks to the CalDAV protocol. 

In this guide, we explain step by step how to configure your SOGo calendar in several different environments:
  1. Mac Mail (macOS)
  2. Thunderbird
  3. iPhone (iOS)

Mac Mail (macOS)

You have two options: install the automatic configuration profile or perform the configuration manually.

  1. Option 1: Install automatic profile (recommended)
    1. Log in to your SOGo account and go to the calendar section. How to access and manage email accounts from SOGo
    2. Click the three-dot icon on the personal calendar and select "Download the iOS - macOS configuration profile"


    1. The downloaded file will open automatically (otherwise you can run it manually) and click “Continue” in the pop-up windows.


    1. Enter your password and click “Install”.


  1. Option 2: Manual configuration
    1. Open the Calendar app on your Mac > top menu > Calendar > Preferences.


    1. In the Accounts tab, click the “+” button.



    1. Select the “Other CalDAV Account…” option and click Continue.


    1. Enter the following details:
      1. Account type: Manual
      2. User:  The full name of your email account (for example: yourname@yourdomain.com)
      3. Password: the password of your email account
      4. Server address: https://sogo.yourdomain.com/SOGo/dav/youraccount@yourdomain.com
      5. Remember to replace "yourdomain.com" and your account name with those of the email address you are configuring



    1. If a certificate warning appears, click “Continue”.



Thunderbird
  1. Access the calendar view (blue calendar icon in the sidebar).


  1. Click “New Calendar…” in the lower corner:


  1. Choose “On the Network” and click Next.

  1. Enter your email address and the calendar CalDAV URL:
    1. Username: The full email address (for example: test@exampledomain.com)
    2. Location: https://sogo.yourdomain.com/SOGo/dav/youraccount@yourdomain.com/Calendar/
    3. Remember to replace your email account and the domain in this "Location"


  1. If a security warning appears, accept the exception to continue.



iPhone (iOS)
  1. Search for the Calendar application from your iPhone "Settings".



  1. Tap Contact Accounts.


  1. Select Add Account.


  1. Choose the Other option.


  1. Tap “Add CalDAV Account”.


  1. Enter the following details:
    1. Server: sogo.yourdomain.com
    2. User: yourname@yourdomain.com
    3. Password: the password of your account
Remember to replace "yourdomain.com" and the username with your email account details.



  1. If a certificate message appears, tap “Continue”.



  1. If the details are correct, the following window will appear so you can confirm which applications you want to have this account active in:


  1. Next, you need to access Advanced Settings to check the account details. Simply click the same email account we just added from the account list:



  1. Inside the account, you can review the details and enter Account Settings.



  1. Once there, click the "Advanced Settings" option



  1. Here you can check whether "SSL" is enabled, modify the assigned port and the account URL. If for any reason the URL is not correct, it can be modified manually.
  2. The URL must be: https://sogo.yourdomain.com:80/SOGo/dav/youraccount@yourdomain.com | Remember to replace "yourdomain.com" and the email address in this URL with your email account details.
  3. The port is: 80
