cdmon backups
Have you lost your website or made changes to the page and it is not displayed correctly? In this guide we will show how to retrieve your website using the cdmon backup restoration tool.
At cdmon we back up every day and store them for several days. Depending on the contracted plan, the system stores backups about days:
- Shared Hosting Plans(Start, Junior, Senior, Master): 15 days
- Virtual/Dedicated Servers:10 days
This means that we have a copy of the content of the last 15/10 days, so if it is aware that the website worked well on a particular day, the backup of that day will be displayed.
Important: In cdmon we do not back up emails, only web files and database, if you delete emails permanently, we do not have copies of the messages in order to retrieve them.
From your cdmon dashboard is where the restoration tool is managed. To restore the page you must access the management of hosting and in the 'Security' section click on the Restore Backup option.
Once inside, the selector appears to choose the type of restoration. We have three restoration options:
- Complete restoration:The complete restoration retrieves all databases and files in the hosting, and replaces the current content.
- Restore web files:This option only allows you to recover files from your website and does not retrieve databases.
- Restore databases:This option allows you to retrieve the hosting databases without making any changes to web files.
As soon as you select the restore type, the dashboard displays a calendar with all available copies. You must click on the day you want to restore and click on "Start Restoration"
With these steps you will have already begun restoring a backup of your accommodation and you must wait for the process to complete (you will receive an automatic email informing you when the restoration is over).
You may want to restore a backup from the day before, but without replacing the current content of the web, it is also possible to restore and download it for testing locally. We attach a number of aids from our support page which will give you more information on restorations:
