Where does the data that generates the usage statistics come from?
Will I receive notifications if I exceed my contracted transfer?
What happens if I was unable to access those notifications and exceed 110%?
Can I contract a transfer increase for a specific period of time?
Question: What does monthly transfer mean?
Answer: Monthly transfer is the data traffic that your website, FTP, and email can generate in one month. For example, if the web page you have published is 100KB, you can receive an average of 10,000 visits per month.
Note: 1GB equals 1024MB, 1MB equals 1024KB. File sizes are usually expressed in KB and MB.
Q: Where can I check my transfer usage?
A: In the cdmon hosted plans control panel, you have statistics with a history of detailed consumption per day.
Q: Where does the data that generates the usage statistics come from?
A: Usage statistics are generated from the log files generated by the programs responsible for providing web, FTP, and email services. Log files are text files where all movements generated by the different services are saved; for example, what time an email was sent and how large it was. These files are the basis for generating your website's visit statistics.
Q: Can I view these log files?
A: Yes, by accessing via FTP with the main account, you can access the LOGS folder, where daily files are saved. If you wish to access monthly files, you must contact the technical department.
Q: Will I receive notifications if I exceed my contracted transfer?
A: Yes. When consumption exceeds 80%, you will receive an alert indicating that you are close to exceeding your contracted monthly consumption. When you exceed 100%, you will receive another; and finally one at 110% in case you have not increased the transfer after exceeding 100%.
Q: What happens if I exceed my transfer?
A: When you exceed 100% of the contracted transfer, the hosting will go into RESTRICTED MODE. This mode limits the network speed to 128Kbps (compared to the usual 100Mbits of traffic). If the contracted transfer is exceeded by 110% and the client does not intend to increase the service features, web and FTP services are temporarily deactivated until 00:00 on the 1st day of the following month. The email service will remain active.
Q: Am I forced to increase my contracted transfer?
A: No. But you should know that the service may be deactivated if it exceeds 110%.
Q: What happens if I was unable to access those notifications and exceed 110%?
A: The bandwidth review system is an automatic process. When the transfer exceeds 110%, the hosting will be automatically deactivated until the transfer is increased or until 00:00 on the 1st day of the following month.
Q: Where can I increase my transfer?
A: In all exceeded transfer notifications, a link is attached to directly access the upgrade form. You can also perform the upgrade by accessing the hosted plans control panel, then upgrade features.
Q: Can I contract a transfer increase for a specific period of time?
A: Yes, what you need to do is access the management of the hosting for which you want to increase the transfer, edit the plan type, and increase the transfer. When you want to return to the previous transfer, just follow the same steps and set the transfer value back to what it was.
Q: My website had the same or fewer visits than last month, but it consumed more transfer. What happened?
A: It could be for different reasons. It is usually due to uploading audio files, video files, or more photographs than usual. Remember the formula: the more files (videos, mp3s, images), the more consumption per visit received.
