How to export RoundCube contacts and import them into Sogo

If you have been using Roundcube as your webmail client and are now starting to use SOGo, you may want to keep your address book. Below, we explain how to export your contacts from Roundcube in a compatible format and how to easily import them into SOGo so you can continue working with them.

1. Export contacts from Roundcube
  1. Access your email account through Roundcube webmail. (for example: webmail.yourdomain.com) How to access and manage Roundcube
  2. Once inside, go to the Contacts section, located in the left-hand side menu.

  1. Within this section, make sure you have selected the "Personal Addresses" address book (or the one you want to export; we mention this one because it is created by default).
  2. Click the Export button, located at the top, and select the Export all option. A .vcf (vCard) file containing all your contacts will be downloaded automatically.

2. Access the address book in SOGo
  1. Log in to your email account from SOGo. (for example: sogo.yourdomain.com) How to access and manage email accounts from SOGo

  1. Once inside, access the contacts section by clicking the Address Book icon, located at the top of the panel.

  1. Select the Personal Address Book option and click on the three vertical dots icon that appears to its right. If none appears or you have accidentally deleted it, you can create a new Address Book.

3. Import the contacts
  1. In the drop-down menu, select Import.

  1. A window will appear where you can select the file. Click the Upload button and select the .vcf file previously exported from Roundcube.

  1. Once the import is complete, a confirmation message will appear in the lower-right corner indicating how many contacts have been added correctly. You will now be able to see all imported contacts listed.

With these simple steps, you will have transferred your contact list from Roundcube to SOGo, without needing to add them again manually. Remember that you can also export them from SOGo if you want to keep a backup copy in the future.
