How to export contacts from RoundCube and import them into SOGo

If you’ve been using Roundcube as your webmail client and are now starting to use SOGo, you might want to keep your address book. Below, we explain how to export your contacts from Roundcube in a compatible format and how to easily import them into SOGo to continue working with them.

1. Exporting contacts from Roundcube

1. Log in to your email account through the Roundcube webmail (e.g., webmail.yourdomain.com). 
2. Once inside, go to the Contacts section, located in the left-hand menu.

1. Within this section, make sure the "Personal Addresses" book is selected (or whichever one you want to export—we mention this as it's the default one).
2. Click the Export button at the top, and select the Export all option. A .vcf (vCard) file containing all your contacts will automatically be downloaded.

2. Accessing the address book in SOGo

1. Log in to your email account via SOGo (e.g., sogo.yourdomain.com). How to access and manage email accounts from SOGo
   

1. Once logged in, go to the Address Book section by clicking the icon at the top of the panel.

1. Select the Personal Address Book option and click on the three vertical dots icon next to it. If no book appears or you’ve accidentally deleted it, you can create a new address book.

3. Importing the contacts

1. From the dropdown menu, select Import.

1. A window will appear where you can choose the file. Click the Upload button and select the .vcf file you previously exported from Roundcube.

1. Once the import is complete, a confirmation message will appear in the bottom-right corner indicating how many contacts were successfully added. You will now see all the imported contacts listed.

With these simple steps, you’ll have transferred your contact list from Roundcube to SOGo, without needing to re-enter them manually. Remember that you can also export your contacts from SOGo if you want to keep a backup copy in the future.
