How to add email in MAC OS MAIL

IMPORTANT: For security reasons, port 25 has been disabled for sending emails. If your email client is configured with this port, you must update it to continue sending emails. New recommended configuration:
  1. SMTP Server: smtp.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with the name of your hosting)
  2. Port: 587
  3. Security: STARTTLS
  4. Authentication: enabled
  5. Password: normal (not encrypted)

How to change the outgoing port in Mail (Mac)
  1. Open Mail
  2. Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts
  3. Select your account
  4. Under Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), click Edit SMTP Server List
  5. Select the server and edit:
    1. Port: 587
    2. Use TLS/SSL: enabled
    3. Authentication: password
  6. Save the changes

At cdmon we have the option to configure our email account in different clients. Now we will explain how to do it in MAIL for MAC OS.

In this case, we use the account "example@bendiciones247.com" as an example; this address must be replaced with the name of the email account to be configured.

1. Previous account configuration
  • Start the Mail application from the Dock or go to Finder > Applications > Mail.

  • When opening the client, select the option Other Mail Account... from the list of providers.

  • Enter the name you wish to associate with the account, along with the email address and the corresponding password.

Note: Mail may take a few minutes to verify the entered data, even if you don't see immediate changes on the screen.

2. Main account data configuration
  • Select one of the protocols: IMAP or POP3 (IMAP is the most common)
Data to enter:
    • Description: assign a descriptive name to the account (for example, the email address itself).
    • Incoming Server (IMAP): enter imap.yourdomain.com (replace "yourdomain.com" with the name of your hosting).
    • Username and password: enter the email account credentials.

  • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):
    • Enter smtp.yourdomain.com (replace "yourdomain.com" with the name of your hosting).
    • Example: smtp.bendiciones247.com.
Note: Mac Mail automatically configures SSL ports. If the data is correct, the account will be configured without problems.
  • Save the changes and your cdmon account will be correctly configured in Mac OS Mail.
