Sometimes you may need to recover deleted content from your hosting or restore the website to a previous state due to a programming failure or error.

You can perform a restoration from your cdmon control panel. To restore the website you must access the hosting management and in the 'Security' section click on the option Restore backup.

Once inside, the selector to choose the type of restoration will appear.

You have three restoration options:
  • Full restoration: Full restoration recovers all the databases and files of the hosting and replaces the current content.
  • Restore web files: This option only allows you to recover files from your website and does not restore the databases.
  • Restore databases: This option allows you to recover the hosting databases.

You can also access the restoration history to see previous restorations and check if there is any restoration currently in progress.

1.-Full restoration

Full restoration recovers all the databases and files of the hosting and replaces the current content.

To start the process, select the day from which you want to restore the backup and click Start restoration. You have a maximum of 15 days of backups available on shared hosting and 10 days on Virtual and Dedicated servers.

After a few minutes the restoration finishes and you will receive an email confirming the end of the process.

2.-Restore web files

This option only allows you to recover files from your website and does not restore the databases.

To start the process, click the day from which you want to recover the files and the file selector will open. Select the files or folders you want to restore. If you select a directory, all its content will be selected.

Once the files are selected, at the bottom of the selector you can choose the type of restoration. You have two options:
  • Replace the selected files: replaces the current files with the restored ones.
  • Save the files in the /restores folder: the recovered files will be saved in the directory "restores" created in the root of the hosting.

After selecting the restoration type click Start restoration to start the process.

After a few minutes the restoration finishes and you will receive an email confirming the completion of the process.

3.-Restore databases

This option allows you to recover the hosting databases.

To start the process click the day from which you want to recover the databases and a list of available databases will appear.

Select the databases you want to recover.

After selecting them you can choose the type of restoration.

You have two options:
  • Replace the selected databases: replaces the current databases with the selected ones as they were on the selected day.
  • Save the .sql files in the "/restores" folder: the backups will be saved in the "/restores" directory located in the root of the hosting.

After selecting the restoration type click Start restoration to start the process.

After a few minutes the restoration finishes and you will receive an email confirming the end of the process.

4.-Restoration history

At the bottom of the screen you have a restoration history where you can see the log of restorations performed.

In the table you can see the start and end date and time of the restoration, the type and the date of the backup used to recover the data.
In the "Restoration type" column, if only web files were restored, the list of recovered folders or files will appear.
