How to add a cdmon email address in Thunderbird

IMPORTANT: For security reasons, port 25 has been disabled for sending emails. If your email client is configured with this port, you must update it in order to continue sending emails. New recommended configuration:

How to change the outgoing port in Thunderbird
  1. Open Thunderbird
  2. Go to Account Settings
  3. Scroll down to Outgoing Server (SMTP)
  4. Select the server and click Edit
  5. Configure:
    1. Port: 587
    2. Connection security: STARTTLS
    3. Authentication: normal password
  6. Save the changes

At cdmon you have the option to add your email account in different email clients. In this tutorial, you will see how to do it in Thunderbird.
 
In this case, we use the account “videos@laboratoriocc.click” as an example; this address must be replaced with the name of the email account to be configured.
 
 
 
1. Open Thunderbird
  • Open Thunderbird and the window to enter the email details will appear.
Note: If you already have an account configured and want to add another one, click the name of the current account and select Email.
 
 
2. Enter account details
  • Enter the following details:
    • Full name: the name you want to assign to the account.
    • Email address: the email address you are configuring.
    • Password: the password for the email account.
Click Continue.
 
 
3. Server configuration
  • Thunderbird will process the information and display the incoming and outgoing server configuration.
  • Next, click Configure manually.
 
 
4. Modify the settings manually
  • In the window that appears, change the SSL/TLS section if it is not assigned by default (the incoming and outgoing ports will update automatically).
  • Change the username to the full email address name (for both the incoming and outgoing server)
  • Click Re-test.
 
 
5. Finish the configuration
  • The message "The following configuration was found by probing the given server" will appear. To finish, click Done.
 
 
  • Thunderbird will perform the necessary checks and your account will be configured.
