In cdmon you have the option to configure email accounts in different managers. In this guide we show how to configure a cdmon email account in the new Microsoft email application (Outlook).
From 2024, the new Windows 11 devices will include the new Outlook for Windows as the free default mailbox application for everyone. The Mail and Calendar applications will continue to be available for download in the Microsoft Store until the end of 2024. On existing devices, users can switch to the new Outlook for Windows from a toggle button in the Mail and Calendar applications.
You can access this link to its official website to see more information regarding the change.
If you still have the old mail app, you can activate the new version from the same app:
If you have already updated the program, the new email manager will automatically open when you click.
When you open the new Outlook, you'll be greeted with the first screen that prompts you to sync your IMAP account. If you choose "Continue," Outlook will prompt you for your IMAP email account details. If you'd rather not sync at this time, select "Cancel" to access more options.
If Outlook cannot log you in automatically, it will take you to an error screen where you can access "Advanced Settings."
Outlook will ask you what type of provider the account you want to add has. Select the "IMAP" option at the bottom of the list to configure your cdmon email manually.
Next, you must enter your email account information. To enter the connection data for our email server, expand the advanced settings with "Show more" and complete the necessary fields, replacing it with the information from your hosting:
IMAP incoming server: imap.domainname.com
Port: 993
Secure connection type: SSL/TLS
Scroll down in the same window to configure the SMTP server:
Outgoing SMTP server: smtp.domainname.com
Port: 465
Secure connection type: SSL/TLS
With the data already entered, click “Continue” to continue with the account setup process in the application.
Once all the data has been entered correctly, Outlook will show you a message about its commitment to privacy. Click "Next" to continue:
Outlook may ask you to share optional diagnostic and usage data. This is your choice; you can choose "Yes" or "No" based on your preferences.
The next screen will tell you how Outlook uses data to improve your experience. You can adjust these options later in your privacy settings.
Outlook offers to import previous settings to make the transition easier. You can choose to "Import Settings" or "Skip" if you prefer to set everything up from scratch.
If you select “Import settings” the program will take a few seconds to apply all changes and will restart automatically after that:
After these steps, your cdmon email account will be set up in Outlook. Finish the process by accepting the privacy policies and configuring your ad preferences, if necessary. Once complete, you should be able to view your inbox and start using Outlook to manage your cdmon emails.
