How to use the calendar in SOGo

SOGo allows you to manage your personal contacts through a clean and intuitive interface. From the address book, you can create new contacts, group them into lists or categories, and easily view their details. Below, we explain how to do it:
  1. Accessing the address book
  2. Creating a new contact
  3. Display settings and categories
  4. Categorizing contacts

1. Accessing the calendar
  1. Log in to SOGo with your email account (e.g., sogo.yourdomain.com). How to access and manage email accounts from SOGo

  1. Click on the Calendar icon located at the top right of the interface.

  1. A weekly or monthly view will be displayed depending on your settings. The calendar will appear in the main panel, and a side menu will allow you to navigate between different calendars.

2. Creating a new event or task
  1. To create a task, click the green + button in the bottom right corner and select Create a new task.

  1. A form will then open where you can enter details such as title, start and end date/time, category, priority, reminder, and attach notes or files.

  1. You can also create an event: click the same + button, but select Create new event instead.

3. Display settings and categories
  1. To manage the available categories for your events (such as “Meeting,” “Vacation,” “Projects”), go to the Preferences panel by clicking the gear icon next to your account.

  1. Within the Calendar section, under the General tab, you can configure the first week of the year, working days, display hours, default reminders, and other calendar customization settings.

  1. If you go to the Categories tab, you’ll be able to view, delete, or add new categories based on your needs.

4. Invitations and Notifications
Within the Invitations tab, you can manage how SOGo handles event invitations and email notifications.
  1. From here, you have the option to disable automatic emails when using CalDAV, or prevent invitations from being automatically generated when someone includes you in a shared event.

These options are especially useful if you sync your calendar with other devices or work in collaborative environments and want to reduce the number of notifications.
