When you send an email from SOGo, by default, the sender appears as the email address itself. To make your messages display your name, company, or any other information, you can change the full name shown in outgoing emails.
Go to Mail → IMAP ACCOUNTS
- In the Preferences/Settings panel, select Mail. From there, access IMAP Accounts. Here you will see the configured accounts.
- By default, the main SOGo account will appear. To modify the account where you want to change the name, click the pencil icon (Edit) next to the account.
Expand the “Identities” section
- Locate the Identities section and click the dropdown arrow to display the options for that identity.
Modify the full name
- Once the identity is expanded, you will see a form with the account fields. In the Full Name field, simply delete the current text and type the name you want to appear when sending emails (for example, your first and last name or your company name).
- Note: Just below the full name field you will find the Signature box. If you want to add text or images at the end of your emails, you can do it there. For more details, check the guide: How to create a signature in SOGo
- Once finished, click OK (bottom-right corner) to close the editing window.
Save the global changes
- After clicking OK, you will return to the IMAP accounts list. Click the green SAVE CHANGES button (top-right corner) to apply the name change.
- If you do not complete this step, the changes will not be saved and the name change will not be applied.
Changing the full name in SOGo is quick and simple. Once the changes are saved, the emails you send will display the name you have configured, improving the identification of your messages.
